Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Istaravshan Central Bazaar (Tajik: Bozori Markazi). From the bazaar, head southeast on the main road, Ulitsa Pushkina. Walk for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Ulitsa Khujand. Turn left onto Ulitsa Khujand and continue walking for another 800 meters. You will pass local shops and residential areas. Keep an eye out for the small signs directing you toward Mazar-i-Chor Gumbaz. After reaching the crossroads, continue straight, and you will see the entrance to the site on your right.

    If you are near the Istaravshan Museum, exit the museum and head west on Ulitsa Lenin. After 600 meters, turn right onto Ulitsa Khujand. Continue walking straight for about 1.2 kilometers, and you will reach the intersection with the main road. Cross the road to stay on the left side and continue walking straight. Mazar-i-Chor Gumbaz will be on your left side after about another 500 meters.

    From Istaravshan's main square (Ploshchad Istaravshan), exit the square heading north toward the main road. Walk along the main road, which is Ulitsa Khujand. After about 1 kilometer, you will see a small sign for Mazar-i-Chor Gumbaz on your left. Turn left at the sign and follow the path leading toward the site.
