  • Walking

    From the center of Arusha, head towards the Arusha Central Market located on Sokoine Road. Once you reach the market, look for the signs directing you to the main bus terminal (Dalla Dalla station). It is about a 10-minute walk. At the bus terminal, board a Dalla Dalla heading to Usa River. The fare is usually very affordable, around 500-1000 TZS. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the point where you can start the trek to Mt. Meru.

    Once you are dropped off at the Usa River junction, look for the path leading towards the Mt. Meru entrance. There are usually local guides and signposts available. The trek to the official entrance of Mt. Meru National Park is about a 45-minute walk from the junction. Ensure you have enough water and necessary trekking gear.
