Once you reach the ferry terminal at the end of Nyerere Road, you will need to take the Kigamboni ferry to cross the river. The ferry operates regularly, and the cost is approximately 500 TZS for pedestrians and about 2,000 TZS for vehicles. After disembarking from the ferry, continue straight on the road until you see signs for Dar Es Salaam Zoo. The zoo is located along the main road in the Kigamboni area.

For those opting for public transportation, you can take a daladala (minibus) from any central location in Dar es Salaam heading towards Kigamboni. Look for daladalas marked with 'Kigamboni' on the front. The fare should be around 600 TZS. Once you arrive in Kigamboni, ask the conductor to drop you off at the ferry terminal. After getting off, you will need to take the ferry across the river, which costs about 500 TZS. Once you reach the other side, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Dar Es Salaam Zoo, which is approximately 1-2 kilometers from the ferry terminal.
