Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Dar es Salaam Central Railway Station, exit the station and head southeast on Uhuru Street. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Samora Avenue. Cross to the other side and continue walking along Samora Avenue for approximately 500 meters. You will see the National Museum of Tanzania on your left. Continue walking straight for another 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road. Turn right and walk for about 1 kilometer. The Dar es Salaam War Cemetery will be on your left, marked with a sign.

  • Public Transport (Dala Dala)

    From the city center, go to the nearest Dala Dala (local minibus) station, such as the one near the Central Railway Station. Look for a Dala Dala heading towards 'Kigamboni' or 'Mbezi Beach'. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at the stop closest to the Dar es Salaam War Cemetery. After about 20-30 minutes, get off at the stop near the National Museum of Tanzania. From there, walk along Samora Avenue for about 800 meters, then turn right onto Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road, and walk another 1 kilometer. The cemetery will be on your left.
