Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Stone Town, start at Forodhani Gardens. Head east along the waterfront towards the Old Fort. Continue walking along the coast until you reach the narrow streets. Turn left onto the street named Mchangani and walk straight. Follow this road for about 10 minutes until you reach the main road. Turn right onto the main road (A1) and continue for about 2 kilometers. You will see signs for the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre on your left.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Stone Town. Start at the Old Fort and head east along the coast. Keep cycling along the waterfront until you reach Mchangani street. Turn left and cycle straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the main road. Turn right onto the A1 road and continue for about 2 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre on your left.

Public Transport (Dalla Dalla)
From the center of Stone Town, walk to the Dalla Dalla (shared minibus) station located near the Old Fort. Take a Dalla Dalla heading to Nungwi or Kendwa. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Pete. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you reach Pete, the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre will be a short walk from the Dalla Dalla stop. Look for signs directing you to the center.
