If you are in Iringa town, start by heading towards the main bus station, known as 'Kituo cha Mabasi'. From the bus station, walk towards the road leading to Mseke. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will reach a junction. Take a right at the junction and continue walking for another 30 minutes. You will see signs pointing to the Isimila Stone Age site. Follow the signs, and after a short distance, you will arrive at the entrance of the site.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Iringa. Start from the town center and head towards the main bus station. From there, follow the same route as walking: take the road to Mseke and after 15 minutes, you will reach the junction. Turn right and continue cycling for about 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for directional signs for the Isimila Stone Age site. You will find the entrance shortly after following the signs.
Public Transport (Dala-Dala)
Locate a 'Dala-Dala' (local minibus) heading towards Mseke at the main bus station in Iringa. Once on the Dala-Dala, inform the conductor that you want to get off at the stop for Isimila. The ride should take around 30 minutes. After getting off, follow the signs to the Isimila Stone Age site, which is about a 10-minute walk from the drop-off point.
