Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central market area of Iringa, head south on Mkwawa Road until you reach the junction with the Dodoma Road (B1). This is a major road in Iringa, and you will see local shops and vendors along the way. Continue straight on Dodoma Road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the sign for Gangilonga. Take a right at the sign and walk along the dirt road for approximately 800 meters. Hidden Valley Backpackers will be on your left, marked by a distinctive sign and surrounded by greenery.

  • Bicycle

    If you have rented a bicycle, start at the central market and cycle down Mkwawa Road towards Dodoma Road. At the junction, turn right onto Dodoma Road (B1) and pedal straight for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for the Gangilonga sign, then turn right onto the dirt road. Cycling along this path should take about 5 minutes, and Hidden Valley Backpackers will be on your left-hand side.

  • Public Transport (Dala Dala)

    To reach Hidden Valley Backpackers using public transport, find a Dala Dala (shared minibus) heading towards Gangilonga from the central market area. Board the Dala Dala and inform the conductor you want to get off at the Gangilonga stop. The fare is usually very affordable. Once you arrive at the stop, walk back along the road for about 200 meters until you see Hidden Valley Backpackers on your right.
