Walking
From the center of Kigoma, head south on the main road (Ujiji Road). Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the road leading towards the beach. Turn left onto the beach road and walk for another 1 kilometer until you see signs for Kitwa Forest. Follow the signs which will lead you eastward into the forest area.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kigoma. Start from the city center and ride south along Ujiji Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. At the junction, turn left onto the road leading to the beach. Continue cycling for about 1 kilometer, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you towards Kitwa Forest. The forest entrance should be clearly marked.
Public Transport (Motorcycle Taxi)
Find a local 'boda-boda' (motorcycle taxi) stand in Kigoma. Ask the driver to take you to Kitwa Forest. They will likely know the area well. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before you start the journey.
