If you are traveling by car from Moshi, head west on B1 (also known as the Moshi - Arusha Road). Continue straight for about 20 km until you reach the junction for Rau Forest Reserve. Look for signs indicating the turnoff to Rau. Take the minor road that leads to the entrance of the forest reserve. The total driving time from Moshi should be approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

For those using public transportation, take a dala-dala (shared minibus) from Moshi to the last stop at the junction for Rau Forest Reserve. These minibuses are frequent and depart from the central bus station in Moshi. Once you reach the junction, you may need to hire a local taxi to take you to the entrance of the forest reserve, which is about 5-10 minutes away. Ensure you confirm the taxi fare before starting your journey; typical fares should be around 10,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings).

If you find yourself at the junction and prefer to walk, you can walk to the entrance of Rau Forest Reserve. The distance is about 2 km. Follow the road leading into the forest; however, be cautious as the road may not be well maintained, and it's advisable to have someone familiar with the area to guide you.
