Getting there

Walking

From the center of Morogoro, head east on Mlimani Road towards the Morogoro Bus Stand. Once you reach the bus stand, look for a daladala (local minibus) heading to Mikese. Ensure it is clearly marked with 'Mikese' or ask the driver to confirm. The fare is usually affordable (approximately TZS 1,000-2,000). Ride the daladala for about 30-40 minutes, enjoying the local scenery along the way. Once you get to Mikese, ask the driver to drop you at the main stop. From there, you should see signs pointing towards Mikese mjini. It's a short walk from the stop to the main area of Mikese.

Bicycle

For those who are a bit more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local shops in Morogoro. Start your journey by cycling east on Mlimani Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction where you can take a left turn onto the Mikese Road. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you arrive in Mikese. Be cautious of traffic and enjoy the beautiful landscape as you ride through the lush countryside.

Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)

If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a motorbike taxi, locally known as a boda boda. You can find them near the Morogoro Bus Stand or any busy street corner. Negotiate a fare to Mikese (approximately TZS 5,000-10,000). The ride will take about 20-30 minutes, and the drivers are generally knowledgeable about the best routes. Ensure to wear a helmet, which is usually provided by the boda boda operator.
