Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Walking
From the center of Moshi, start at the Moshi Clock Tower. Head east on Uhuru Street towards the junction with Sokoine Road. Continue straight until you reach a major intersection. Turn right onto Sokoine Road, and walk for about 10 minutes. You will pass several shops and local eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs as you approach the Plateau Road junction.
Walking
Once you reach the intersection of Sokoine Road and Plateau Road, turn left onto Plateau Road. Continue walking for approximately 5 minutes. The Maridadi Hotel will be on your right. Look for a sign that indicates the hotel entrance.
Bicycle Taxi (Pikipiki)
If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a bicycle taxi (pikipiki) from the Clock Tower. Inform the rider that you want to go to Plateau Road. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to show them the name of the hotel or the address to avoid any confusion.
Motorcycle Taxi (Boda Boda)
Alternatively, you can use a motorcycle taxi (boda boda). From the Clock Tower, ask a boda boda driver to take you to The Maridadi Hotel on Plateau Road. The fare is usually negotiated before the ride, and it should take around 5 minutes. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow safety precautions.
Public Transport (Dala Dala)
You can also take a dala dala (shared minibus). From the Clock Tower, board a dala dala heading towards the Kilimanjaro International Airport route. Inform the conductor to drop you off at the Plateau Road stop. Walk for about 2 minutes to reach The Maridadi Hotel from the stop.
Use The Maridadi Hotel as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
