Car
If you are driving from the nearest town, Nakuru, take the A104 road heading east. Continue on this road for approximately 80 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the A104 towards Londiani. Follow the signs for Londiani, and then take the B1 towards Kericho. After about 30 kilometers, you will begin to see signs for Ela Nairobi. Follow the signs until you reach the base of the mountain, where you may need to park your vehicle and hike the final section to the peak.
Public Transportation (Matatu)
From Nakuru, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Londiani. The matatus are available at the Nakuru bus station. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Londiani. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, and there may be a fare of around 500-700 TZS. Once you reach Londiani, you will need to find another matatu or local taxi to take you to the base of Ela Nairobi. This additional journey might cost around 1000-1500 TZS.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the base of Ela Nairobi, you will need to hike to the peak. The trail is well-marked, but ensure you have appropriate hiking gear. The hike can take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your fitness level. Be sure to carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
