Getting There
Walking
Start at the Forodhani Gardens, a popular gathering place in Stone Town. From there, head southeast along the waterfront promenade. You will enjoy views of the sea and the bustling atmosphere of Stone Town. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). Continue past the Old Fort, staying on the promenade. You will soon see the entrance to Shangani Public Beach on your left. It's a small access point, and you will walk directly onto the beach.

If you are near the House of Wonders, exit and head towards the seafront. Turn left and walk along the coast for about 5-7 minutes. Keep an eye out for the entrance to Shangani Public Beach, which will be on your right before you reach a small group of local shops. The beach will be easily accessible from this point.

If you are starting from the Darajani Market, exit the market and head southwest towards the waterfront. Continue walking straight until you reach the seafront promenade, then turn right. Follow the promenade for 10-15 minutes, and look for the entrance to Shangani Public Beach on your left just after passing the Old Fort.
