Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Forodhani Gardens, head east towards the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe). From the Old Fort, walk south along the shoreline until you reach the intersection with Kenyatta Road. Turn left onto Kenyatta Road and continue walking straight. After about 10 minutes, you will see Mnara Mosque on your right, just before you reach the intersection with Mkunazini Street.

    From the House of Wonders (Beit al Ajaib), head south towards the waterfront. Once you reach the waterfront, turn right and walk along the coast until you reach the Old Fort. From the Old Fort, follow the previous directions along Kenyatta Road to reach Mnara Mosque.

    If you are near the Anglican Cathedral, exit the cathedral and head east on Shabazz Street. Turn right at the end of the street onto Mkunazini Street, and keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Kenyatta Road. From there, turn left, and Mnara Mosque will be on your right after a short walk.
