Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Forodhani Gardens, head east along the waterfront towards the Old Fort. As you walk, enjoy the scenic view of the ocean. Continue straight for about 700 meters until you reach the intersection with Mizingani Road. The Old Fort is located just to your left, at the corner of Mizingani Road and the ocean.

    From the Darajani Market, exit the market and head southeast towards the Old Fort. Walk along Mkunazini Street, which will take you directly to the waterfront. Once you reach the coast, turn left and continue walking along Mizingani Road for about 300 meters until you see the entrance to the Old Fort on your right.

    If you are near the Anglican Cathedral, exit the cathedral and head towards Kenyatta Road. Walk along Kenyatta Road until you reach the junction with Mizingani Road. Turn right onto Mizingani Road and continue walking for approximately 500 meters. The Old Fort will be on your left, shortly after you pass the House of Wonders.

    Starting from the Spice Market, exit and head towards the main road (Mkunazini Street). Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Mizingani Road. Turn right at this intersection and continue walking for about 400 meters. The Old Fort will be on your left, just before the waterfront.
