Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Stone Town, take the B2 road heading southeast towards Jozani Forest. Continue on the B2 for about 40 km until you reach the junction for the A7 road. Turn left onto the A7 road towards Paje. Stay on the A7 until you reach Dongwe. Look for signs indicating direction towards Blue Lagoon, which is located on Unnamed Road in Dongwe. Parking may be available nearby, but be aware of any local regulations.

    From Stone Town, head to the main daladala (minibus) terminal. Look for a daladala heading to Paje, which will cost around TZS 1,500 to TZS 2,000. The journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on stops. Once you arrive in Paje, you will need to take a taxi or walk to Blue Lagoon in Dongwe, which is about 6 km away. A taxi from Paje to Blue Lagoon will cost approximately TZS 10,000 to TZS 15,000.

From Stone Town, the taxi ride will take around 45 minutes and cost approximately TZS 40,000 to TZS 50,000. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
