Car
If you are driving, start from Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar. Head northeast on Sokoine Rd towards Mkunazini St. Continue on the main road towards the northern part of the island, following signs for Nungwi. After approximately 50 km, as you approach the Nungwi area, carefully follow the signs leading to the eastern coast towards Makangale. The Ngezi Forest is located close to Makangale. Upon reaching Makangale, look for the coordinates 3MQX+CV9 to find the entrance to Ngezi Forest.
Public Transportation
To get to Ngezi Forest via public transportation, start at the Darajani Market in Stone Town. There, you can catch a 'dala-dala' (shared minibus) heading to Nungwi. The fare is typically around 2,000-3,000 TZS. Inform the driver that you want to go to Makangale. The journey takes about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Makangale, you can ask locals for directions to Ngezi Forest, which is located at the coordinates 3MQX+CV9. It may be a short walk or a short taxi ride from the main road.
Taxi
