Car
If you are driving from Stone Town, head east on Mkunazini Street and follow the signs towards the Zanzibar Ferry Terminal. After reaching the terminal, take a ferry to Changu Island. Upon arrival, follow the main road to V5J8+CWV, where the Prison is located. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes including the ferry ride.
Public Transportation
From Stone Town, you can take a Dala Dala (local minibus) heading to the ferry terminal. The fare is around 500 TZS. Once at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Changu Island. After arriving at Changu Island, you can either walk or take a local taxi to V5J8+CWV. The total travel time will be approximately 1 hour including ferry and local transport.
