If you are driving, get on US-441 N/Newfound Gap Rd heading towards Cherokee, NC. Continue on this road for approximately 15 miles. The Oconaluftee Visitor Center will be on your left at 1194 Newfound Gap Rd, Cherokee, NC 28719. Look for the signs indicating the visitor center as you approach.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a local bus service to Cherokee, NC. Once you arrive in Cherokee, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Oconaluftee Visitor Center, as public transport may not directly service this location. The distance from Cherokee to the visitor center is about 3 miles, and taxi fares typically range from $10 to $15.
Bicycling
If you prefer cycling, you can take the same route as cars via US-441 N/Newfound Gap Rd. Be cautious of traffic and ensure you have proper cycling gear. There are bike racks available at the visitor center.
