Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Chattanooga, head to the nearest Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus stop. Take the Route 10 bus towards the East Ridge Park and Ride. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop at East Lake Park. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area. Head northeast on East Lake Road, then turn left onto Kings Point Road. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area.

• Bike

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations around downtown Chattanooga. Start at the Chattanooga Riverwalk and head east along the paved path. After about 3 miles, you'll reach the junction with the Chickamauga Dam Road. Follow the signs to Chickamauga Dam, which will lead you directly to the Day Use Area. The ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes.

• Walking

  For an adventurous walk, you can start from the Tennessee Aquarium located in downtown Chattanooga. Walk west on Aquarium Way, then turn right onto Riverfront Parkway. Follow the river until you reach the bridge at the Chickamauga Dam. Cross the bridge and continue onto Kings Point Road. The Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area is about a 1-mile walk from the bridge. This route will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes!
