From downtown Chattanooga, head northwest on Broad Street toward 4th Street. Continue straight until you reach the Tennessee Aquarium, which will be on your left. From the aquarium, follow the Riverwalk along the Tennessee River for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Bluff View Art District. Ascend the steps or use the ramps leading up to Bluff View Ave. The Hunter Museum of American Art will be located at 10 Bluff View Ave, on your left.

Take the CARTA bus from the nearest stop in downtown Chattanooga. Catch the #1 or #2 bus heading towards the Bluff View Art District. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes, and get off at the Bluff View stop.
