Breathtaking Views at Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Gatlinburg Strip (the main street in Gatlinburg), head north on the main road, Parkway. Walk along the Parkway for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. At this point, you can choose to take the SkyLift to the top of the mountain. The SkyLift offers a scenic ride with breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg below. Once you reach the top, follow the signs to the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook.

• Public Transport

  To get to the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook using public transport, catch the trolley from any of the trolley stops along the Gatlinburg Strip. Look for the trolley that goes towards the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. The ride will take about 15 minutes. Once you disembark, follow the signs towards the SkyLift entrance, and purchase a ticket to ride up to the overlook. After enjoying the views, you can take the SkyLift back down.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops on the Parkway. Start your ride by heading north on Parkway. After about 0.5 miles, look for the turn-off towards the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park. The ride is uphill, so be prepared for some incline. Once you reach the entrance of the SkyLift, lock your bike and purchase a ticket to ride up to the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook.
