Getting There

Car

Starting from the Hatchie River Area, get on US-51 S. Continue driving south for approximately 15 miles until you reach the intersection with I-40 E. Merge onto I-40 E and continue for about 35 miles. Take exit 1A to merge onto I-240 S toward Jackson. After about 5 miles, take exit 30A for US-78 S. Continue on US-78 S for about 2 miles, then take exit 1 for Overton Park. Follow the signs to Overton Park, and you will find Old Forest State Natural Area within the park. There is no entry fee for the area, but check for parking availability.
Public Transportation

From the Hatchie River Area, take a local bus service to Memphis. You will need to check the local bus schedule for the exact routes and times. Once you arrive in Memphis, transfer to the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) bus line. Take the #2 bus toward Poplar Avenue. Get off at the Overton Park stop. From there, you can either walk to Old Forest State Natural Area which is approximately a 15-minute walk through the park. There may be a small fee for the bus ride, so be sure to have cash or a transit card ready.
