If you're in Johnson City, head to the nearest bus stop for the Johnson City Transit system. You want to catch the Route 6 bus towards Gray. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to get off at the stop closest to the intersection of I-26 and Suncrest Drive. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Head east on Suncrest Drive until you reach 1212 Suncrest Drive, where the Hands On Discovery Center is located.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike rental service in Johnson City. Start by heading northwest on W State of Franklin Rd towards N Roan St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with I-26. Take a right onto I-26 and follow the bike lane to the exit for Gray. Once you exit, take a left onto Suncrest Drive and pedal until you reach 1212 Suncrest Drive. The ride should take about 25-30 minutes depending on your speed.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are within a reasonable distance, you can walk to the Hands On Discovery Center. Start from downtown Johnson City and head west on E Main St. Continue on E Main St until you reach the intersection with University Parkway. Turn left onto University Parkway and follow it as it curves into I-26. Once you reach the exit for Gray, take a right onto Suncrest Drive and walk straight until you arrive at 1212 Suncrest Drive. This walk could take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
