Getting There

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From the University of Tennessee, walk to the nearest bus stop on Cumberland Ave. Look for the KAT (Knoxville Area Transit) bus service. You can take Bus Route 11 (Magnolia Avenue). The fare is $1.00, and you can pay with cash or a KAT pass. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at East Magnolia Avenue & Thorngrove Pike. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off, walk east on Thorngrove Pike for about 0.5 miles, and you will reach Historic Ramsey House at 2614 Thorngrove Pike.

    If you prefer a more active route, you can walk or bike to Historic Ramsey House. Start by heading east on Volunteer Blvd from the University. Continue until you reach Neyland Drive and turn left. Follow Neyland Drive until you reach the intersection with East Magnolia Ave. Turn right on East Magnolia Ave and then take a left onto Thorngrove Pike. The total distance is roughly 2.5 miles and will take about 50 minutes to walk or around 15 minutes to bike.
