Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Austin, TX. From downtown Austin, take TX-71 W for about 20 miles. Merge onto US-281 N and continue for 5 miles. Take the exit toward TX-620 W and follow it for approximately 6 miles. Turn left onto Rockies Run Summit. Falconhead West Primitive Park will be on your right. There is no entry fee to access the park, but parking may be limited.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take the Capital Metro bus route 20 from downtown Austin toward Oak Hill. Get off at the stop at TX-620 & Hudson Bend. From there, you will need to arrange for a rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) to cover the remaining 2 miles to Rockies Run Summit. Expect to pay approximately $10-$15 for the rideshare service.

• Bicycle

  If you're biking, start from downtown Austin and take the Lance Armstrong Bikeway to connect to the Veloway. Follow the Veloway until you reach TX-620, then head west to Rockies Run Summit. This route is about 15 miles and may take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water for the ride.

• Walking

  If you are within walking distance, navigate to Rockies Run Summit from your location. Use a reliable map application for precise directions. Remember the park is open and accessible on foot, but the distance may vary significantly depending on where you are coming from, so plan accordingly.
