Public Bus
From downtown Austin, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Capital Metro bus route 30 (Berkman). Ride for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the stop at William Cannon & Westgate. From there, transfer to bus route 331 (Southwest). After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop for Rawhide Trail. Walk about 10 minutes north on Rawhide Trail to reach the Austin Zoo located at 10808 Rawhide Trail.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in downtown Austin. Start from the Texas State Capitol area and head south on Congress Avenue. Turn left onto Riverside Drive and continue until you reach South First Street. Turn right and continue until you reach William Cannon Drive. Turn left and follow the road until you reach Rawhide Trail. The zoo will be on your right after you ride for about 5 miles.
