Walking
If you are close to the eastern parts of East Austin, make your way to East 11th Street and head west. Continue walking until you reach I-35. Cross the highway using the pedestrian overpass, which is located at the intersection of East 11th Street and I-35. After crossing, you will be on the western side of the highway. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with 15th Street. Turn left onto 15th Street and follow it as it curves to the right, leading you directly to the Texas Capitol at 1100 Congress Ave.

From East Austin, find your nearest Capital Metro bus stop. You can take the MetroBus Route 7 (Capitol Metro) heading towards the 'Riverside' or 'Cedar Park' direction. Make sure to get off at the 'Congress at 11th' stop. From there, walk one block north to reach the Texas Capitol at 1100 Congress Ave. As of now, a single ride costs $1.25.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service in East Austin. Head towards the nearest bike lane, which is typically found along East 11th Street.
