    Start your journey at the Brownsville Bus Terminal located at 700 E Adams St, Brownsville, TX 78520. From there, take the Metro Connect bus (Route 6) towards the nearest stop on Boca Chica Blvd. The bus runs approximately every 30 minutes. After disembarking at the Boca Chica Blvd stop, head northeast on Boca Chica Blvd. Continue walking straight for about 2.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Boca Chica Wildlife Refuge. Be prepared for a walk, and ensure you have water and sun protection.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Brownsville. One option is to rent from 'Brownsville Bicycles' located at 1800 E 14th St, Brownsville, TX 78520. From there, head east on E 14th St towards Boca Chica Blvd. Turn right onto Boca Chica Blvd and follow the road for about 2.5 miles until you arrive at the Boca Chica Wildlife Refuge entrance. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws.

    If you are up for a long walk, you can walk directly from downtown Brownsville to Boca Chica Wildlife Refuge. Start at the Brownsville Historic District, located at 1000 E Elizabeth St. From there, head east on Elizabeth St, turn right onto E 6th St, and then left onto Boca Chica Blvd. Continue walking straight for about 3 miles. The refuge entrance will be on your left. This is a longer route but allows you to explore the area along the way.
