Car
If you are driving within Davis Mountains State Park, navigate to the main park road (Park Road 1). Follow the signs directing you to the Davis Mountains State Park Interpretive Center. The center is located near the entrance of the park, approximately 1 mile from the main junction of the park road. Look for a parking area adjacent to the center upon arrival. Note that there is an entrance fee for the park, which is usually around $7 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, if you are coming from nearby towns like Fort Davis, you may be able to find local shuttle services or taxi options. It is advisable to check in advance for availability as these services may not run frequently. Once you arrive at Davis Mountains State Park, you will need to walk or use a bike to reach the Interpretive Center, which is about a 15-minute walk from the main entrance of the park.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Fort Davis and ride to the park. Once inside the park, follow Park Road 1 towards the Interpretive Center, which is approximately 1 mile from the main entrance. The roads are scenic and provide a great way to experience the park, but be cautious of wildlife and ensure you have water and sun protection while cycling.
