From any point in Palo Duro Canyon State Park, exit the park via the main entrance which is located on Texas State Highway 217. Once you reach the highway, turn right and head toward Canyon, TX. Continue on TX-217 until you reach the intersection with US-87. Turn left onto US-87 and drive for approximately 15 miles. Then, take the exit toward 4th Ave in Canyon. Turn right onto 4th Ave, and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum will be on your left at 2503 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015. There is no parking fee at the museum, but be aware that the museum itself may have an admission fee.
