Getting There

• Car

  From anywhere in Red River Valley, head towards US-90 W. If you are starting from Del Rio, take US-90 W for approximately 75 miles. After reaching the town of Vanderpool, turn left onto RM 187. Continue on RM 187 for about 5 miles, and you will find Lost Maples State Natural Area on your right at 37221 RM 187, Vanderpool, TX 78885. Parking is available at the entrance, and there is a small entrance fee of $6 per vehicle.

• Public Transportation + Taxi/Rideshare

  If you are using public transportation, take a Greyhound bus or another transit service to the nearest town, which is typically Uvalde, TX. From Uvalde, you will need to hire a taxi or use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Lost Maples State Natural Area. The taxi ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes, covering about 30 miles to the park entrance. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
