Public Transit Bus
To reach the Houston Zoo from Sugar Land, start by walking to the nearest bus stop that services the Fort Bend County Public Transportation. You will want to catch the bus line 40 towards the 'Fifth Ward Transit Center'. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the 'Brazos Town Center', where you need to transfer to the METRO bus line 60 (which runs frequently). Board the 60 bus and stay on for about 40 minutes until you arrive at the 'Hermann Park Dr at Main St' stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the zoo entrance.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and would like to bike to the Houston Zoo, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in Sugar Land. Head north on the Sugar Land Memorial Park trail until you reach the intersection with Highway 6. Continue onto the bike path leading to the north side of the highway, which will eventually connect you to the trails leading towards Houston. Follow the trail signs to Hermann Park, and once you reach the park, follow the signs pointing to the Houston Zoo.
Ride-sharing Service
For a more direct route to the Houston Zoo, consider using a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Simply open the app on your smartphone and enter 'Houston Zoo, 6200 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX 77030' as your destination.
