    To reach the J.D. Tippit Historical Marker by car, start on Interstate 20 (I-20) if you are coming from the west. Head east on I-20 towards Dallas. Take exit 47B to merge onto I-45 N toward Dallas. Continue on I-45 N, then take exit 47A for SH-37. Follow the signs for SH-37 and merge onto it. The historical marker is located on SH-37 in Dallas. Look for the marker on the right side of the road as you drive along SH-37. There is no entry fee to visit the marker.

    Public Transportation

    If you prefer to use public transportation, take a Greyhound bus to Dallas from your location in West Texas. Once in Dallas, you can use the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system. Take the DART light rail to the nearest station, which is the 'West End' station. From there, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service, as the historical marker is not within walking distance. Expect to pay approximately $15-$25 for a taxi or rideshare to the historical marker on SH-37.
