Getting there

Bus

From Surat Thani city center, head to the main bus terminal (Terminal 1). Look for buses heading towards Chaiya. Purchase a ticket to Chaiya, which should cost around 50-100 THB depending on the bus type. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Chaiya bus station, exit the terminal and take a local songthaew (shared taxi) or motorcycle taxi to Laem Pho. The songthaew will cost about 30 THB per person and takes around 20 minutes to reach Laem Pho.

Train

From Surat Thani Railway Station, purchase a ticket for a train heading to Chaiya. Check the schedule in advance as train timings can vary. The journey will take around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Chaiya Station, exit the station and take a local songthaew or motorcycle taxi to Laem Pho. Expect to pay about 30 THB for the songthaew, which will take approximately 20 minutes.

Motorcycle Taxi

If you are comfortable riding on a motorcycle, you can hire a local motorcycle taxi from any point in Surat Thani city. Negotiate the fare upfront, which should be around 150-200 THB. The ride to Laem Pho will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure that the driver knows the destination by showing them the address: Phum Riang, Chaiya District, Surat Thani 84110.
