If you are at Ayutthaya Historical Park, head south towards Naresuan Road. Continue walking for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Thanon Chao Phrom. Turn left onto Thanon Chao Phrom and walk for another 200 meters. You will see the sign for Wat Mahathat on your right. The Buddha Head in the Roots of a Bodhi Tree is located within the temple grounds, just a short walk from the entrance.

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops around Ayutthaya, such as those near the train station or historical park. Follow the same route as if you were walking: head south on Naresuan Road, then turn left onto Thanon Chao Phrom. Keep an eye out for Wat Mahathat on your right. The bike ride should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed.
