Songthaew
To reach Wat Chamthewi from central Chiang Mai, you can take a Songthaew (a shared taxi). Head to the nearest Songthaew stop, which is usually located near the Old City or Tha Phae Gate. Look for a Songthaew that has 'Lamphun' written on it. Once you board, inform the driver you're going to Wat Chamthewi. The ride will take you to Lamphun, approximately 30-40 minutes away. Ask the driver to drop you off at the temple, which is located on Chamadevi Rd.
Bus
Another option is to take a bus to Lamphun. Go to the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station, which can be reached by a short walk or a Songthaew from the city center. Look for a bus heading to Lamphun. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Lamphun Bus Station, you can take a local tuk-tuk or Songthaew to Wat Chamthewi, which is about 10 minutes away.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Chiang Mai. Head north towards the Lampoon Road (Highway 106) and follow the signs to Lamphun. The distance is approximately 26 kilometers, which may take about 1-1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Lamphun, navigate to Chamadevi Rd, and you will find Wat Chamthewi along the road.
