If you are driving from the main area of the Golden Triangle, start by heading north on Route 1 (Phahonyothin Road). After about 14 kilometers, take the exit toward Mae Sai (Route 120). Continue on Route 120 for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach Mae Sai. Once in Mae Sai, follow the signs towards Wiang Phang Kham. The temple is located a short distance off Route 120, with signs directing you to Wat Tham Pha Chom. There is free parking available near the temple.
Public Transportation
To reach Wat Tham Pha Chom via public transportation, take a bus or minivan from the central bus station in Chiang Rai to Mae Sai. The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and costs around 50-100 THB. Once you arrive in Mae Sai, you can hire a tuk-tuk or songthaew (shared taxi) to take you to Wiang Phang Kham. Negotiate the fare in advance; it should cost about 200-300 THB for the trip. The drivers are familiar with the temple, so simply mention Wat Tham Pha Chom.
