Getting There

  • Songthaew

    From Chaweng Beach, head to the main road (Chaweng Beach Road) and look for a Songthaew (shared taxi) heading towards the north of the island. The fare is around 30-50 THB. Tell the driver you want to go to Mae Nam. Once you reach Mae Nam, get off at the main intersection near Mae Nam Beach. From there, you can either take another Songthaew or walk.

  • Walking

    From the Mae Nam intersection, walk along the road towards the beach. Follow signs for Soi 2. Continue walking straight until you reach 141/53 Moo 3. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui (Soi 2 Branch) will be on your left side. The walk is approximately 1 kilometer and takes about 15-20 minutes.

  • Taxi

    If you're at the Fisherman's Village in Bophut, you can take a taxi directly to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui (Soi 2 Branch). Show the driver the address: 141/53 Moo 3, Mae Nam. The ride will take about 15 minutes and should cost around 200-300 THB.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in your area. Head north from Bophut along the main road towards Mae Nam. Follow the road signs to Mae Nam, and when you reach the intersection near the beach, turn into Soi 2. The sanctuary will be on your left. The ride is about 6 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes.
