Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are staying in Chaweng, you can walk to the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks (Hin Ta Hin Yai) from the central area of Chaweng. Start from Chaweng Beach and head south along the beach road (Road 4169). Continue walking for about 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Road 4170. Turn left onto Road 4170 and continue walking for another 1 kilometer. You will see signs directing you to Hin Ta Hin Yai on your left. Follow the signs to the parking area, and from there, it's a short walk to the rocks.

  • Public Transport (Songthaew)

    From any location in Chaweng, you can catch a local songthaew (shared taxi) heading towards Lamai. Songthaews are usually parked near popular spots like Chaweng Beach or in the main streets. Simply wave one down and tell the driver 'Hin Ta Hin Yai.' The fare is typically around 50-100 Thai Baht per person. The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes. The songthaew will drop you off near the entrance to the rocks, and from there it's a short walk to the viewing area.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle. There are several rental shops in Chaweng where you can rent a bicycle for around 100-200 Thai Baht for a day. Start from Chaweng Beach and head south on the main road, following the same route as walking. Make sure to stick to the side of the road for safety. Once you reach the intersection with Road 4170, turn left and continue until you see the signs for the rocks. The ride is approximately 4 kilometers one way, and you'll have the flexibility to explore at your own pace.
