Songthaew
To reach the Guan Yu Shrine, find a nearby Songthaew (a shared taxi) on the main road. These vehicles are typically marked with a color that indicates their route. Tell the driver you want to go to 'Guan Yu Shrine' or show them the address: '190 C2WF+3W8, 11 หมู่ 1 4169, Tambon Maret'. The ride will take you directly to the shrine, which is located in the Maret area. Make sure to pay the fare (usually around 30-50 THB) once you reach your destination.
Walking
If you are staying nearby, you can walk to the Guan Yu Shrine. Start from your accommodation and head towards the main road. Look for signs directing you towards 'Maret' or the 'Guan Yu Shrine'. The shrine is located off the main road, so once you reach the area, you may need to follow smaller side streets. Use a map application on your phone for precise directions. The shrine is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, so plan your visit accordingly.
Bicycle Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle. Many shops in Koh Samui offer bicycle rentals. Once you have your bicycle, head towards the main road and follow the directions to Maret. Use a map app to help navigate. The Guan Yu Shrine is about a 15-20 minute ride from the central areas of Lamai, depending on traffic. Remember to wear a helmet and keep hydrated during your ride.
