Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start your journey from Sairee Beach, one of the most popular areas in Koh Tao. Head south on the main road (Tao Thong Road). Continue until you reach the junction near the Tanote Bay area. Take a right turn onto the road heading towards Sailom viewpoint. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers, and you will reach the parking area at the viewpoint. There is no fee for parking, but please drive cautiously as the road can be steep and winding.

Scooter

Renting a scooter is a popular option for tourists. From your accommodation in Koh Tao, navigate to the main road (Tao Thong Road) heading south. When you reach the Tanote Bay junction, turn right onto the road leading to Sailom viewpoint. The ride is about 1.5 kilometers uphill, so be prepared for some steep sections. Parking is available at the viewpoint with no additional fees.

Public Transportation (Songthaew)

To reach Sailom viewpoint using public transport, find a songthaew (shared taxi) that operates between Sairee Beach and Tanote Bay. Inform the driver that you want to go to Sailom viewpoint. The fare is generally around 100-150 THB per person, depending on your bargaining skills. Once you reach the Tanote Bay junction, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to the viewpoint, as songthaews may not go all the way. Be sure to check the return schedule with the driver to avoid being stranded.

Walking

If you are feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, consider walking to Sailom viewpoint. From Sairee Beach, take the main road south.
