Car
If you're driving, start by heading south on Route 106 from Chiang Mai. Continue for approximately 12 km until you reach the intersection with Route 121. Turn left onto Route 121 and continue for about 6 km. Look for signs indicating Yang Noeng. When you reach the village, follow local signage to Wat Saen Luang, which will be located on your right. Parking is typically available near the temple.
Public Transportation
To reach Wat Saen Luang via public transportation, take a red songthaew from Chiang Mai. These shared taxis can be found near the Old City or at the Chang Puak Gate. Ask the driver to take you to Saraphi District or specifically to Yang Noeng. The fare is usually around 30-50 THB. Once you arrive in Yang Noeng, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to reach Wat Saen Luang, so be prepared for a short walk.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Chiang Mai to Wat Saen Luang. This will be more convenient if you're traveling with luggage or in a group. The taxi fare can range from 300 to 500 THB depending on your negotiation skills and time of day. The driver will take you directly to the temple entrance, making it a hassle-free option.
