Walking
If you are in Loei town, start at the Loei Bus Station. Exit the station and head southeast on Phon Phaeng Road. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Phu Khiao Road. Turn left onto Phu Khiao Road and continue walking for another 1 kilometer. You will see a sign for Loei River on your right. Follow the road that leads down towards the riverbank. The river is easily accessible from this path.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Loei town. Start at the Loei Bus Station and head southeast on Phon Phaeng Road. After about 500 meters, turn left onto Phu Khiao Road. Continue for approximately 1 kilometer until you see a sign for Loei River on your right. Follow the path leading down to the riverbank. Biking along this route is pleasant with minimal traffic.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk near the Loei Bus Station. Tell the driver you want to go to Loei River. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver should take you along Phon Phaeng Road and then turn left onto Phu Khiao Road. You will arrive at a drop-off point near the riverbank. From there, it’s a short walk to the river.
Public Transportation (Songthaew)
Head to the nearest songthaew stop in Loei town, typically near the bus station. Wait for a songthaew heading towards the Phu Khiao area. Once you board, let the driver know your destination is Loei River. After about 15 minutes, get off at the designated stop near the riverbank. You may need to walk a short distance to reach the water's edge.
