Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from central regions of the Mekong River Region, head west towards Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road). Continue on this highway until you reach the town of Samut Songkhram. From Samut Songkhram, follow signs towards Mae Klong, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. The drive should take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Please note that there may be tolls along the way depending on your starting point.

• Public Bus

  To reach Mae Klong via public transportation, take a bus from Bangkok to Samut Songkhram. Buses frequently depart from the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) in Bangkok. The journey typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Samut Songkhram, you can catch a local minibus or songthaew (shared taxi) heading to Mae Klong, which is about a 30-minute ride. The fare for the songthaew is usually around 20-30 THB.

• Train

  You can also take a train from Bangkok to Maeklong Station. Trains depart from Wongwian Yai Station in Bangkok. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Maeklong Station, you will find local transport options such as tuk-tuks or motorcycles available to take you to the Mae Klong area, which is approximately 5 kilometers away.

• Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service

  For a more direct route to Mae Klong, you can opt for a taxi or a ride-hailing service like Grab. If you are in the Mekong River Region, simply input 'Mae Klong' as your destination. This method is convenient but can be more expensive, with fares depending on the distance from your current location. Expect to pay approximately 300-500 THB from nearby towns.
