Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from Nong Khai city. Head northeast on Route 2 (Asia Highway) for about 30 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Sangkhom District. After about 20 minutes, take the exit toward Sangkhom. Continue on local roads for approximately 10 kilometers, following signs to Pha Tang. Once you reach Pha Tang, navigate to the coordinates 29H8+462. The road will lead you to the Than Thong Waterfall area, where you will find parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  From Nong Khai city, take a local bus or songthaew (shared taxi) to Sangkhom District. The journey will take around 1-1.5 hours and typically costs between 50-100 THB. Once you arrive in Sangkhom, you may need to hire a motorcycle taxi or arrange for a local songthaew to take you the final 10 kilometers to Than Thong Waterfall. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 100-150 THB for the short trip. The driver will take you to the coordinates 29H8+462 in Pha Tang.

• Motorcycle Rental

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorcycle in Nong Khai. Rental shops can be found throughout the city, with costs around 200-400 THB per day. Once you have your motorcycle, follow the same route as if you were driving a car. This option allows you to explore the scenic roads of the Mekong River region at your own pace. After reaching Pha Tang, park your motorcycle and enjoy the hike to Than Thong Waterfall.
