If you are traveling by car, start your journey on Route 1 (Phetchabun Road) from any major city in the Mekong River Region. Continue driving towards Chiang Rai. Once you reach Chiang Rai, follow the signs towards Phayao via Route 1 until you reach the town of Phayao. From Phayao, take Route 1148 heading south to reach the Kok River. The trip will take approximately 4-5 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to have a GPS or map app ready as some areas may not have clear signage. There are several gas stations and rest stops along the way, and expect to spend around 100-200 THB on fuel depending on your vehicle.

For public transportation, take a bus from Chiang Rai's bus terminal to Phayao. The bus ride takes about 2 hours and costs around 100-150 THB.
