Phukaew Peak: A Scenic Marvel in Khao Kho

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Khao Kho District in Phetchabun. From Phetchabun town, take Highway 12 (Phetchabun - Lom Sak Road) heading north for approximately 30 kilometers. Then, turn onto Highway 2216 towards Khao Kho for about 20 kilometers. Follow the signs for Phukaew Peak as you approach Khao Kho. Once you reach Khaem Son, look for the entrance to Phukaew Peak. There is ample parking available at the base.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Phetchabun town to Khao Kho. Buses leave regularly from the bus terminal and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Khao Kho, you will need to hire a local taxi or songthaew (a shared taxi truck) to take you to Phukaew Peak. The fare may range from 200 to 400 THB depending on the distance and negotiation.

• On Foot

  If you are already in Khao Kho and prefer a hike, from the Khao Kho Viewpoint, you can take a scenic trail leading towards Phukaew Peak. This hike can take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have appropriate footwear and bring water, as the trail can be steep in some sections.

• Additional Transport

  Once at the base of Phukaew Peak, there is a complimentary shuttle service provided to transport visitors from the parking area to the peak itself. This service is typically included in your visit and is a convenient way to reach the summit without the need for an uphill hike.
