Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Patong Beach, walk to the main road and find the local bus stop that services the route towards Phuket Town. Board the bus heading to Phuket Town. The fare is around 30-50 THB. Once you reach Phuket Town, get off at the main bus terminal. From there, you will need to take another bus to Thalang. Look for the bus labeled 'Thalang' or 'Airport.' Upon arriving in Thalang, ask the bus driver to let you know when you reach Soi Cherngtalay 1, where the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary is located.

• Songthaew (Shared Taxi)

  If you prefer a more direct route, from your location in Phuket, find a Songthaew that goes to Thalang. These are shared taxis that usually operate along fixed routes. Once you are in Thalang, ask the driver to drop you off at Soi Cherngtalay 1. The Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at the end of this road. Fares typically range from 20-50 THB depending on the distance.

• Motorbike Taxi

  For a quicker option, you can take a motorbike taxi from your current location directly to the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary. Simply find a motorbike taxi stand or use a ride-hailing app to request a ride. Provide the driver with the destination: '6 Soi Cherngtalay 1, Choeng Thale, Thalang District.' The fare will vary but expect to pay around 150-300 THB depending on your starting point.

• Walking (if nearby)

  If you are staying close to Choeng Thale, you can walk to the Elephant Wildlife Sanctuary. From the main road, head into Soi Cherngtalay 1 and continue straight. Follow the road until you reach the sanctuary, which will be clearly marked. This is a pleasant walk, but ensure you have plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.
