Tuk-Tuk
From your hotel or starting point in Phuket, find a nearby Tuk-Tuk stand or ask your hotel to call one for you. Specify that you want to go to The Big Buddha, located in Karon. The driver will take you directly to the base of the statue. The ride typically takes around 20-30 minutes from Patong Beach and can cost between 200-400 THB depending on your starting point.
Songthaew
Look for a Songthaew (shared taxi) that operates on the route between Patong and Karon. You can catch a Songthaew from the main road, and you should tell the driver you're heading to The Big Buddha. Once you reach Karon, you may need to walk or take another Tuk-Tuk for the remaining distance to the statue, which is about 3 kilometers uphill from Karon Beach.
Walking
If you are staying in Karon, you can walk to The Big Buddha. From Karon Beach, head towards the Karon Temple and follow the signs that indicate the direction to The Big Buddha. The walk is about 2-3 kilometers and will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Be prepared for an uphill trek as you approach the site.
Bike Rental
Consider renting a bicycle from local shops in Karon or Patong. Navigate towards The Big Buddha by following the main roads. Use a map app for guidance, and set out early in the day to avoid the heat. The ride can take about 30 minutes, and it's a scenic route with beautiful views, though be cautious of the traffic.
